Jefferson

Jefferson Hi everyone, my name is Jefferson. I came to the sanctuary a few months ago. I had been an only ferret for the fist 6 years of my life, and I was with my owner for all 6 years. I’m thankful for the time we had together, and I miss her. My new Mumma realized that I had Insulinoma and started me on medicine for it, and I’m feeling much better than I have been. I’m still getting used to having friends who want to snuggle with me and be close to me. Sometimes I find my new Mumma just to snuggle her for a while. I’m having to learn the ferret language again. Ferret language Hooked-on-Phonics would be great for this endeavor. I think I currently understand humans more than ferrets.
A little bit about the things I love…. I really like food. All food. The kibble blend Mumma mixes for us, Mumma’s famous soupies, and Gerber Chicken or Turkey baby food jars. Mumma told me that I need to gain weight. I’m a bit of a scrawny boy. That Insulinoma has been taking a lot out of me. Hopefully now that I’m on medicine for it, and that I’m eating extra food and soupies, I will get back to a healthier weight. I also really love sleeping bags! They’re so nice and warm, and they make the most wonderful warm tunnel! I’m also a bit of a picky boy when it comes to getting my feet wet or dirty. I LOVE fresh potty pads! Mumma definitely goes through a lot of them… especially now that I’m eating and drinking a lot more than I used to. I give Mumma the stink eye, and she knows she’s slacking! As soon as she puts them down, I will roll on them and dook to let her know how happy they make me!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
Much Love, Jefferson <3

We are a self funded private rescue/sanctuary in New Hampshire. Our current residents come from all over New England. Some came to us sick and old, and others healthy in large groups. We make sure to never separate bonded groups who come in so no one looses who they love.
We go through supplies rapidly with the number of noodles in our care, and finances are always tight. Thank you so much for anything and everything, we couldn’t keep this going without the love and support we get during this time of year from the ferret community. There are about 20 ferrets here that this very well might be their last Christmas, so we make sure everyone gets to play with and enjoy the gifts that are received!

We are always in need of the following…
*FOOD! - Marshalls, Wysong Ferret Epigen 90 DS, Instinct Ultimate Protein Chicken or Duck, Dr. Elsey’s Clean Protein Chicken, Oxbow Ferret Food, Mazuri Ferret Food, Intune, Totally Ferret Active and Show
