Betsy

Betsy Hello All.....My name is Betsy, or as I am sometimes called, Betsy the biter. I am a dainty, tiny, fragile dark sable little girl with jaws of steel. There are many reasons to bite, but all in all sometimes it just seems like the thing to do. How better to show your interest in a human than by biting them.......after all it completely gets their attention and isn't that what all ferrets really truly want? Although I was originally an only ferret and chose to bite ferrets and people alike when I first arrived at the shelter, I have since found that biting ferrets is not as much fun as biting people and making them squeal.

I am very active and smart, climbing tall cages with ease and have mastered the art of sliding down the cages to get to the bottom. No leaping or falling for me, I can climb mountains with the best of them and go up and down with ease. I am also an expert cage decorator, much better than my shelter mom, I move the entire cage around to suit my needs, litter pan, bowls, blankets, they are great fun to move and reorganize, and regardless of what people say, blankies DO belong in the litter pan, as that can be one of the best places to sleep EVER!

I like blankies, and sleep beds most, though I will sleep in a hammock with friends when the mood hits me. I lost my first cage mate earlier this year, but now have a new buddy. Interestingly enough both of my best girlfriends have been white.......I know that is because my lovely dark fur has no competition against a white furred ferret! Her name is Aurora, her and I are buds and sleep together a lot of them time and with winter coming a friend to help keep me warm is a good thing!

According to my shelter mom, though I have gotten a bit better about biting, I am older ferret and I show signs of beginning adrenal disease. Between this and my wonderful attention getting biting I'm a permanent resident at the shelter. While I am not a picky eater, I loves to steal and hide treats for later, Even if I don't seem to eat a lot of treats personally I finds it great fun to grab them and then dash off to hide them in one of my special hidey holes.
