Minnie, is a beautifully marked sable ferret with pretty eye markings setting off her dark expressive eyes. She was transferred from Quincy, IL to the shelter here in Mo. along with 2 other lady ferrets that she gets along with. This very sweet little girl does unfortunately suffer from an very bad N-bone addiction! Unfortunately there are never enough N-bones to go around so she grabs them and takes them from her ferret buddies as often as possible, gobbling and hiding them asquickly as possible. Playing a game with her we often toss 1/2’s of N-bones around the room for her to gather, grab and eat.
We believe someone must have badly hurt her around her neck at some point, or she had a collar that hurt her, as she absolutely freaks out if you try to do anything at all with her neck. Nothing can can be around or touching her neck area as it freaks her out. Sometimes as she eats soup we try to clean her face and neck, or try putting a small “bib” on her, but she absolutely hates having this done to her, though sometimes she really needs a bit cleaned up! She dos have the reputation of being a bit nippy at times, and especially likes nipping on bare legs.
She has had an infection recently with her glands in her neck swelling up, a bit of antibiotics seems to be helping and she is doing better. She also is losing hair at the base of her tail and has been recently started on lupron.
Minnie is asking Santa for N-bones, any size, any color, any flavor! We can also use cleaning supplies, duck soup makings, and any of the normal ferret goodies.
