Sweetie

Sweetie Sweetie is most happy as a free roam ferret who tolerates other ferrets only when she has to. We originally tried keeping her in the ferret room with her cagemate Peanut and the other ferrets but it quickly became apparent that she really did not care as much for other ferrets especially females! For awhile she had to spend half her days caged as she refused to get along with many of the other ferrets in the room, and was less interested in spending time with Peanut as well.
Now she has been moved downstairs where she has several rooms to play in and though there are a couple other ferrets running around, they do not interact a lot. If they do try and mess with her she can be a bit pissy and lets them know quite clearly that she does not appreciate being disturbed.
This tiny, totally blind ferret moves around her living area extremely well, somehow remembering exactly where everything has been placed. The only time she runs into trouble is when someone decides to move something on her, then she may stumble and she seems very confused, trying to figure out the changes to her surroundings. Her rooms are layered with potty pads as she does have a tendency to potty when and where she wants to. No litter pan for her, climbing in and out is difficult so the potty pads make it easy to clean up and easy for her to go when she needs to do so.
She is being treated for lymphoma, and assorted tummy issues. He meds include, lupron, pred, ranitidine, and probiotics. She loves N-bones in bacon and salmon flavors, but will not eat the chicken ones at all! She has daily feedings of soup, and nibbles on the regular ferret food mix. Sleepsacks and blankets are used most by Sweetie, and we can always use puppy pads as well.
