Bandit

Bandit Bandit came in with 2 other ferrets, Lily and Big-Un unfortunately it was obvious from the first that they were not a well cared for group of ferrets. These 3 were without a doubt the lucky ones though, as their brother , a 4th fuzzy, was left alone to waste away, he died just days before we came to pick up these 3 but they were fortunate in that his death prompted the owners to give the rest of the group to the shelter. Still a reasonably active ferret who likes to grab and stash toys all over the room, and in particular stash them in in her little fabric toy tent. She loves Jingle bells, crochet eggs that make noise and all sorts of small portable toys.

She is very plump with fatty pockets caused by being on pred for awhile. She is currently not on pred though as it was not helping enough. She has hip problems and has some difficulty moving from place to place, arthritis and possible early malnutrition have taken their toll on her little limbs and though her heart seems willing her body is often tired. She has been on some holistic meds that seem to be helping her hair to grow back. She is on Lupron when we can get it, but unfortunately lately our supply has not been reliable so we have been looking to natural alternatives to help with her medical issues.

She absolutely loves the beef flavored bandit treats, but interestingly enough turns her nose up at the beef N-bones although she does like the other flavors.

Hair loss makes her gravitate towards the warm, soft, fleece and sherpa lined sleep areas. She does not use a lot of hammocks but sleep sacks are a definite plus for her.
